（ECNS）--Four pet volunteers recently visited a nursing home in Guangzhou.
It is part of Animals Asia’s animal-assisted therapy program, called Dr Dog.
The four enthusiastic dog volunteers cuddled with seniors and brightened their day.
Initiated during 2004 in China, the program has over 100 dogs in Chengdu, Guangzhou and Shenzhen serving as volunteers.
Gan Lan, country director of the program, said dogs need to pass a quite difficult exam to be considered volunteers.
