Yicheng Huagu, a style of drum dance and music that originated in Yicheng county of Shanxi province, was staged at the opening ceremony of a contest on Wednesday.
The traditional dance was listed as a national intangible cultural heritage in 2006.
More than 11,000 people participated in the contest, among whom the youngest was only three years old and the oldest was 66.
