Moo shu pork from northern China has become a staple of American Chinese cuisine.

Why it is called Moo shu pork?

One possible explanation is that the first part is from Sweet Osmanthus, a small ornamental tree that produces bunches of small and fragrant blossoms that may be yellow or white. Scrambled eggs in the dish have an appearance that remind people of the mixed yellow and white flowers. Such naming may cause diners to associate the dish with flowers.
