(ECNS)--Audiences at an ancient theatre in Beijing have had a chance to enjoy the amazing sound of five antique guqin.
The guqin is a plucked seven-string Chinese musical instrument of the zither family.
It has been played since ancient times, and has traditionally been favored by scholars and literati.
The five guqin played are among 29 pieces collected by the Chinese National Academy of Arts.
Among the five instruments, the oldest is from the Tang Dynasty spanning the 7th to 10th centuries, while the newest are from the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644).
It is a rare opportunity to see such a performance.
