(ECNS) -- Archaeologists have discovered a pot of eggs inside a tomb in Shangxing town, Liyang, Jiangsu Province.
This tomb dates back to the Spring and Autumn period (771 BC--476 BC).
There are about 20 eggs in the pot. It is rare to find eggs so well preserved after 2,500 years.
The eggs will be stored at a stable temperature and humidity for further study.
