China and South Korea say they support the United Nation's resolution to impose new sanctions on the DPRK over its nuclear test and satellite launch.

China's special representative for Korean Peninsula affairs Wu Dawei, who is also the country's chief envoy to the six-party talks met South Korean Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se in Seoul on Monday for talks.

The two sides agreed to work together to maintain peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and are committed to developing their strategic partnership.

The meeting came after the U.S. presented a draft UN resolution that will create the toughest UN sanctions on Pyongyang in over two decades.
