Families compensated, officials fired after elderly care facility fire

An investigation into the fire, which killed 38 people and injured six in a private rest home in Henan Province on Monday is still ongoing.

Four county officials have been suspended, and each victim's family will get a compensation of about 500,000 yuan ($30,000).

The investigation found poor building quality and lax safety management were major causes.
