Beijing's Xicheng district inaugurated a new overseas investment and liaison office in Paris on Wednesday, as part of efforts to deepen international business ties. The launch took place during the 2025 Beijing Xicheng–Paris Investment Promotion Event at the China Cultural Center in Paris.
The Paris office follows the establishment of Xicheng's European Investment and Trade Liaison Station and the expansion of its global network since 2024, including branches in France, Switzerland, Luxembourg, and service stations in Norway and Finland.
Over 61 years of diplomatic ties, China and France have contributed to global peace and development. The investment event aims to boost dialogue, cooperation, and shared growth for mutual benefit.
Wang Meng, director of the Paris China Culture Center, and Liu Dongwei, Party secretary of the Communist Party of China Xicheng District Committee, attended the ceremony.
In his address, Liu highlighted Xicheng's rich heritage and growing global appeal. "Xicheng reflects over 3,000 years of Beijing's history and blends cultural preservation with innovation," he said. The district is the northern terminus of the Grand Canal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
In addition, Xicheng also plays a central role in China's financial landscape, hosting key national regulatory bodies and promoting the integration of culture, technology, and finance. It promotes coordinated growth in cultural consumption, creative design, and the integration of culture, technology, and finance.
Xicheng has embraced openness as a hallmark of its high-quality development, the district emphasizes full-spectrum services and has become a model for optimizing the business ecosystem in the city.

During the event, a delegate of the Xicheng District Branch of the Beijing Municipal Commission of Planning and Natural Resources introduced how the district has advanced scientific management and efficient utilization of spatial resources through industrial upgrading and transformation.
Thierry Meignen, a French senator, shared the development journey of establishing friendly cooperation between the two cities.
Chrystelle Renaud from the Paris Insurance Group shared the successful experience of launching a joint venture of BNP Paribas in Xicheng district.
The CITIC Europe Holdings Limited and Beijing Financial Street Investment (Group) Co Ltd established strategic cooperation during the event.
The event was hosted by Xicheng district, Beijing, and co-organized by the Beijing Financial Street Chamber of Commerce, Bank of China Paris Branch, China International Capital Corporation, and CITIC Europe Holdings Limited.
