Themed "New Technology, New Equipment for New Quality Strength," the 12th China International Exhibition on Police Equipment (CIEPE), or the Police Expo, will be held at the Beijing Shougang International Convention and Exhibition Center in Beijing from May 14-17, officials with the Chinese Ministry of Public Security (MPS) announced on Monday.
Yan Fei, director of the MPS equipment and finance bureau and executive deputy director of the CIEPE organizing committee, disclosed at a Monday press conference that all exhibition halls are fully booked. The event has attracted 30 international exhibitors from 11 countries, including the US, Canada, Australia, France, Germany, Italy, South Korea, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Finland and Spain, she said.
This fully demonstrates the global influence and appeal of the CIEPE, providing an excellent platform for communication and cooperation between domestic and international police equipment companies, as well as between companies and users, Yan told the Global Times on Monday.
For the first time, the CIEPE this year will feature an intelligent unmanned equipment exhibition zone, showcasing unmanned equipment for law enforcement applications across air, land, water surface and underwater environments, official said.
Also debuting is the Police-Harmony zone, which introduces a new ecosystem of police equipment based on China's independently developed and controllable HarmonyOS operating system for law enforcement. This move aims to address challenges in secure connectivity, information sharing, and operational coordination in policing practices, per the MPS.
This new edition of CIEPE would also fully reflect the advancement of cutting-edge technologies and equipment, particularly in next-generation information technology, AI and new materials, according to the MPS.
The MPS said in a statement sent to the Global Times on Monday that in the domain of AI application, this year's exhibition will see police robots equipped with intelligent analysis and autonomous decision-making capabilities, able to perform tasks such as patrolling and reconnaissance in complex environments.
In terms of new materials, lightweight, high-strength protective equipment will significantly enhance the safety and mobility of law enforcement personnel, read the statement.
The CIEPE brings together well-known domestic and international companies and research institutes to showcase their latest equipment achievements. It displays the latest applications of new technologies in police equipment, releases the newest products and technologies from participating companies, and leads the development trends of the police equipment industry. It has become China's most authoritative police equipment event and a professional exhibition with wide influence in the Asia-Pacific region and even globally, attracting increasing attention from more countries and regions, Yan said.
The CIEPE was firstly launched in 2002 and has been successfully held for 11 consecutive years in Beijing, Yan said.
