China welcomes more members of the U.S. Congress and people from all walks of life to visit China, see and experience it for themselves, so as to have an objective understanding of China and play a constructive role in promoting the stable, healthy, and sustainable development of China-U.S. relations, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun said on Monday.

Guo's remarks were made in response to a Bloomberg interview with U.S. Republican Senator Steve Daines, who said he'd like to arrange a bipartisan delegation of U.S. senators to China later this year after David Perdue is confirmed as U.S. ambassador to China.

Chinese Premier Li Qiang on Sunday met with U.S. Senator Steve Daines and some American business people, who are here to attend the China Development Forum 2025, Xinhua reported. 

When asked about the details of the dialogue between China and the U.S. for the next step, Guo said on Monday that China always believes that the steady, healthy and sustainable development of China-U.S. relations are in line with the common interests of the two peoples and meets the expectation of the international community. 

Before meeting with Premier Li Qiang, Daines has met with Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng on Saturday. He stressed that China and the U.S. share broad common interests and significant opportunities for cooperation, and can be partners and friends, achieving mutual success and shared prosperity that benefits both countries and the world, according to Xinhua. 

On Friday, Chinese Deputy Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu also met with Daines. The two sides held in-depth exchanges on China-U.S. relations and issues of mutual concern, according to a press release from the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
