China urges U.S. to investigate UChicago Chinese student's death

China expressed deep condolences and sincere sympathy over the fatal shooting of a Chinese student who was studying at the University of Chicago (UChicago), and strongly condemned the act of violence, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian said on Monday. 

China attaches great importance to the safety of Chinese students overseas and urges the U.S. to take concrete measures to thoroughly investigate the case, comfort the victim's family and take responsible measures to protect the safety of all Chinese nationals in the U.S., said Zhao.
