Chinese President Xi Jinping has called for deepening the reform of the national supervision and intra-Party discipline inspection systems.
Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, made the remarks Thursday afternoon at a group study attended by members of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee.
In his speech, Xi emphasized that the anti-graft work must be carried out on the basis of law and follow standard procedures, noting that the comprehensive party governance must be provided with rigor and a systemic guarantee.
The Chinese president pointed out that the goal of deepening China's national supervision system reform is to ensure that the supervision covers everyone and every institution that exercises public power.
The supervision is designed to make sure public power is properly used, and better encourage the officials to fulfill their responsibilities and make achievements in their careers, noted Xi.?
On measures to move the reform forward, Xi reiterated the significance of strengthening mechanisms that ensure officials dare not, can not and will not be corrupt.?
He also mentioned that relevant laws and regulations should be improved to match China's Supervision Law.?
The Supervision Law was adopted by China's national legislature in March this year, legalizing a more sophisticated and efficient anti-graft network.
Xi also suggested a combination of supervision by intra-Party departments, government offices, non-Communist parties, justice departments, the public and the media.
He also urged the discipline inspection and supervision organ staff to properly exercise their power, asking them to set a good example first and foremost by following laws and disciplines, continuing to improve their professionalism and being open to supervision from the Party and the people themselves.
