Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee,?met Lien Chan, former chairman of the Chinese Kuomintang (KMT) party on Friday at the?Great Hall?of the People?in Beijing.
Lien, also chairman of a foundation on cross-Strait peaceful development, arrived in Beijing on Thursday, leading a delegation of people from various sectors in Taiwan.
During the stay in the mainland, Lien will?also visit provinces including Liaoning, Jilin and Zhejiang.
