On the last day of his two-day visit to China on Wednesday, Kim visited the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences in Beijing. The DPRK top leader concluded his visit to China later on Wednesday and departed from Beijing for the DPRK.
MOFA: China continues to play a constructive role?
China hopes relevant parties will take positive measures to address the DPRK’s legitimate concern and establish a peaceful mechanism on the Korean Peninsula, Geng Shuang, spokesperson of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), said during a press conference on Wednesday.
Geng also said China will continue to play a constructive role, and China has always implemented the UN Security Council's resolutions and will also maintain normal exchange and cooperation with the DPRK and fulfill its own international obligations.?
Geng said during the talks between Kim Jong Un and President Xi Jinping, Xi emphasized that this year marks the 40th anniversary of China’s reform and opening-up policy.?
Xi said that since the reform and opening-up, the Chinese people have carried out self-reform and innovation, and China is happy to see that the DPRK made a major decision to shift the focus to economic construction, and the development of the DPRK’s socialist cause has entered a new stage in history. He added that China supports the DPRK’s economic development, the improvement of people’s livelihood, and its development path that accords with its national conditions.
