Chinese President Xi Jinping Thursday met with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, pledging to work with Germany to bring bilateral ties to a new high.
Merkel is paying an official visit to China on Thursday and Friday at the invitation of Chinese Premier Li Keqiang.
