Two U.S. military jets have crashed off the coast of western Japan, local media reported on Thursday citing Japanese government sources.
The planes, a Marine Corps C-130 and?F/A-18?fighter jet, went down off the coast of Kochi prefecture after taking off from Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni.
The incident took place at 2:00 a.m. local time on Thursday.
Search and rescue work is underway, according to authorities.
