China is among 15 countries that have set up national booths at the third annual World Nuclear Exhibition which kicked off Tuesday in Paris.
“China's nuclear industry is in good shape and is ready to export,” said Gerard Kottmann, president of France's Aifen. He added that the Chinese team had expanded “…because they need to show more potential buyers the true value of their mature nuclear projects on a global platform.”
China's major nuclear companies, including National Nuclear Corp, General Nuclear Power Corp and State Nuclear Power Technology Corp are all here to demonstrate the CAP1400 units, the country's first self-developed digitalized nuclear reactor.?
International exhibitors and buyers are particularly interested in China's home-grown nuclear technologies, such as Hualong One.?
Long Maoxiong, deputy secretary-general of the China Nuclear Energy Association, said Hualong One is a pressurized water nuclear reactor design, one of his company’s core projects.?
The project is already going global. China General Nuclear Power Corp signed a deal in 2015 to invest in three nuclear power projects in the UK, with Bradwell B nuclear power plant being one of them designed to use Hualong One.
"The cooperation with the UK is going rather smoothly. The authorities there started general design assessment on Hualong One, which will be adopted by Bradwell. And we are doing practical research in advance," said Zheng Dongshan, CEO of General Nuclear International.
Aside from core reactor technologies, small to mid-sized companies will also show Chinese-designed support facilities, such as pumps, field systems and other components at the exhibition which will conclude on Thursday.?
