(ECNS) -- The Navy Force of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) hosted a naval vessel open day event on Sunday at Cambodia's Sihanoukville Ream Naval Base during the China-Cambodia "Golden Dragon-2025" joint exercise.
At around 9 a.m., Cambodian military personnel boarded the Chinese naval vessels Changbaishan, Panzhihua, and Guangyuan. Naval interpreters provided an introduction to the ships' systems and highlighted unique aspects of PLA Navy culture. The visit offered the Cambodian counterparts an up-close look at the daily operations and lives of Chinese sailors.
On the same day, Chinese troops participating in the China-Cambodia "Golden Dragon-2025" joint exercise held an equipment exhibition and exchange activity at a Cambodian air force base, showcasing search-and-rescue helicopters, rescue winches, special lifesaving gear, and other devices.
Chinese personnel detailed helicopter equipment design concepts, technical parameters, and tactical application scenarios, while demonstrating simulated ground rescues using rescue winches, equipment donning procedures, and lifesaving hand signals.
Pilots and technical personnel from both sides then engaged in discussions on equipment applications and technical challenges.
Focusing on joint counter-terrorism and humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations, the exercise will be conducted both on land and at sea, as well as in relevant air spaces. Besides, cultural and sports exchanges, and vessel open day activities will be conducted.
This exercise is the 7th of its kind between the Chinese and Cambodian militaries. It kicked off on May 14 and will end on May 28.
