Shared drones deployed in NE China's Dalian

(ECNS) -- A batch of shared drones debuted at the Xinghai Park in Shahekou District in Dalian, northeast China's Liaoning Province, on Monday.

As tourism consumption rapidly upgrades towards premium and personalized experiences, tourist demand for distinctive travel activities is growing. Aerial photography via drones, with its unique perspectives, effectively meets tourists' diverse needs.

The city first deployed two shared drone cabinets, each equipped with five DJI Neo drones. Users can unlock the cabinets by scanning QR codes with their smartphones, enabling instant drone access in under a minute, making the process incredibly convenient.

Tourist Wang Yiran who used a drone for photography for the first time was surprised by how user-friendly it was—even a beginner could quickly get the hang of it.

"The aerial shoot only cost 20 yuan (about $2.72), which is so much more convenient than buying and carrying my own equipment," said Wang.

Shahekou District boasts abundant cultural and tourism resources, drawing over 10 million visits annually, providing vast market potential for the operation of shared drone cabinets.

Starting next week, it will progressively deploy these cabinets in key areas such as Sun Asia Ocean World and Polar World, Iceberg Wisdom Valley, and Xi'an Road Commercial Zone.

This initiative aims to offer tourists a more diverse and enriching travel experience while helping scenic spots cultivate new economic growth drivers, ultimately enhancing the region's overall tourism appeal and competitiveness.
