(ECNS) -- China has spearheaded and released the first ISO international standard foran ambulance, "Technical Specification for Medical Cabins of Negative Pressure Ambulance" (ISO/TS17430:2025), according to the Administration for Market Regulation.
The negative pressure ambulance is an important medical component, primarily used for the safe isolation and transport of infectious disease patients, playing a crucial role in the control of various respiratory complications.
The standard outlines the technical requirements for the medical cabins of a negative pressure ambulance, including sealing and isolation performance, negative pressure performance, ventilation rate, directional airflow, disinfection system functions, filtration and disinfection devices in the negative pressure system, as well as other related technical specifications and testing methods.
The release of the standard significantly enhances the safety, effectiveness, and timeliness of patient treatment in highly infectious environments.
It also provides a reference for the technical specifications of negative pressure ambulance medical cabins worldwide and will have a positive impact on global efforts to prevent and control respiratory infectious diseases.
Experts from China, France, Italy, and other countries jointly participated in the research and formulation of this standard.
