(ECNS) -- China’s Shanxi Province has exported 1,067 kilograms of oil tea to Canada for the first time, local customs authorities announced on Friday.
Pingyao oil tea, a traditional drink made from roasted grains and mixed nuts, has been a local specialty for over a thousand years and is a hallmark of Shanxi merchant culture.
“To ensure the product meets overseas standards, Jinyang Customs provided full-process guidance, from enterprise registration and product sampling to testing and expedited customs clearance,” said Du Liang, head of the export enterprise.
Last August, the company's crispy rice products were exported to Japan for the first time. Oil tea entering the Canadian market marks another breakthrough, with hopes that more people will get a taste of Shanxi's specialty foods.
Jinyang Customs has taken a comprehensive approach to supporting local businesses in expanding globally, from ensuring food quality to streamlining customs clearance. Moving forward, it will continue assisting companies in exploring overseas markets and promoting the export of local specialties.
