(ECNS) -- The ongoing 7th China International Import Expo (CIIE) has seen the debut of many cutting-edge technologies and high-end equipment.

Statistics show that more than 400 new products, new technologies and new services are being showcased, covering sectors of artificial intelligence, new materials, new energy, and biotech.

This year, a record high of 297 Fortune 500 companies and industry leaders are attending the six-day expo. Many have debuted their latest technological innovations, seizing the opportunities provided by China’s commitment to further opening up both its market and manufacturing industry.

Pittsburgh-based startup Shift Robotics, Inc. is attending the expo for the first time, with its new generation AI-powered shoes, called Moonwalkers Aero. It claims to be the "world's fastest shoes”, which allows you to walk at speeds of up to 11.3 km/h.

Vertaxi, a Chinese eVTOL startup, has joined hands with its partner, the United States-based Ampaire this year, bringing three autonomous eVTOL drones to the 2024 expo.

Among them, the M1 eVTOL, independently developed by Vertaxi, is the largest exhibit at the expo. Hailed as the future “air taxi”, the eVTOL aircraft is characterized by low-carbon, environmentally friendly, low-noise, and high-safety features.

In addition, French tire maker Michelin, a regular exhibitor at the CIIE, is exhibiting a futuristic prototype wheel for lunar exploration vehicles, among other products including car tires containing 71 percent sustainable materials and a new generation aircraft tire.

Making its Asian debut at the CIIE, this lunar rover tire can cope with the moon's extreme temperatures, from 100 degrees Celsius to minus 240 degrees Celsius. In the future, it can help create permanent human settlements on the Moon and Mars.

From rising startups to industry giants, their dedication to the 7th CIIE is self-evident, taking it as a global platform for product debuts, cutting-edge technology launches, and innovative service introductions.

In recent years, China’s prominence in the global innovation landscape has continued to increase. The country has climbed to 11th place in the latest Global Innovation Index 2024, released by the World Intellectual Property Organization, marking an impressive rise among the world's most innovative economies, and positioning itself as one of the fastest-advancing countries over the past decade.
