(ECNS) -- A fully loaded cargo airplane destined for Billund in Denmark took off from Huahu International Airport, Asia's first cargo airport, in Ezhou, central China's Hubei Province on Thursday.
It is the first direct cargo route from Huahu airport to Northern Europe, with a maximum capacity of 100 metric tons and a maximum cargo volume of 600 cubic meters.
Two flights are scheduled each week, providing a weekly air transport capacity of 400 metric tons. Mail products are the main outbound goods, while fresh products are the main inbound equivalents.
Located in the central part of the Jutland Peninsula in Denmark, Billund Airport is the second largest in the country. The route is the 27th international cargo route opened by Ezhou Huahu International Airport.
Since 2024, Ezhou airport has continued to improve its cargo service capability and strives to build an "international cargo transit hub".
In June this year, the Huahu International Air Cargo Hub platform was officially launched, breaking down data barriers between the airport, airlines, customs, and civil aviation authorities while realizing many functions such as flight status queries, export waybill tracking and management, and cargo subsidy declaration.
