(ECNS) -- Haiyang Dizhi 26, China's first integrated island (reef) geological survey vessel was commissioned at Haikou Marine Geological Survey Center of China Geological Survey in south China's Hainan Province on Friday.
The multi-functional research vessel measures 63.5 meters long, 12.6 meters wide and 4.6 meters deep with a designed draft of 3.2 meters. It can accommodate 34 crew members and has a range of 3,500 nautical miles for an endurance of 35 days.
Adopting a dual machine full turning rudder propeller with DP1 dynamic positioning system, it boasts good stability, maneuverability, and seaworthiness.
The ship is equipped with 32 sets of advanced marine geological survey technology and equipment, such as an ocean engineering drilling system, static sounding system, multiple geophysical survey system, and ocean operation support system, ideal or ocean engineering exploration, marine energy and mineral research, and comprehensive exploration of natural resources in the South China Sea.
