(ECNS) -- Signage prohibiting Tesla vehicles from parking has been removed from the Yueyang Sanhe Airport in Yueyang, Hunan province, airport staff told China News Network on Thursday.
"Tesla can now enter both public areas and parking lots," the staff said.
A video circulating online showed a "No Tesla" sign due to confidentiality concerns at the entrance of the airport's parking lot.
According to media reports, airport staff previously responded to the ban by stating that Tesla vehicles have a Sentry Mode, which records the surroundings of the vehicle when the driver is away, posing a potential security risk of information leakage.
The staff said that the ban is applied to everyone, including airport employees.
Tesla on Monday released a statement addressing the concerns, saying the Sentry Mode is a prevalent anti-theft feature available in modern smart cars and not exclusive to Tesla.
The U.S. electric car manufacturer said that it has established data centers in China to ensure localized data storage.
All data generated from vehicles sold in the Chinese mainland is stored within the country's borders, the company added.
