Flame for Hangzhou Asian Games successfully lit

 

(ECNS) -- The flame for the Hangzhou Asian Games was lit at Liangzhu ancient city in Hangzhou City, east China's Zhejiang Province on Thursday.

The flame was lit using a concave mirror to refract the sun’s rays and transferred to the flame cauldron.

The Archaeological Ruins of Liangzhu City provide profound and compelling evidence that Chinese civilization started 5,000 years ago. Lighting the flame here represents the ignition of unity, civilization, and peace, which symbolize Asia's solidarity. It better showcases the ancient and enduring Chinese civilization, and aspirations of the Chinese people.
