(ECNS) -- An official from Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, northwest China's Qinghai Province expressed his thanks to an initiative for 40 kids from a local welfare home, saying it will benefit the children for a lifetime.
During the six-day journey, the 40 children were invited to visit the Palace Museum, the National Stadium (also known as the Bird's Nest) and the Great Wall, and see exhibitions at the former site of the National Mongolian and Tibetan school, and enjoyed performances at China Ethnic Song and Dance Ensemble in Beijing.
They also played a soccer match with thirty children from the Beijing Guoan football Youth Team at the new Workers' Stadium.
The happy journey has helped the 40 kids fulfill their dreams and inspired them to have a bigger goal and become more confident, said Guo Huchun, deputy governor of Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture People's Government during a video speech.
"For these children, it was their first time visiting Beijing, and for many, their first time leaving their hometowns," according to Guo.
The trip provided them with an opportunity to broaden their horizons and improve their abilities. The seeds of self-confidence, independence, and self-improvement sown in their hearts will benefit them throughout their lives, Guo said.
He also pointed out that throughout the entire event, everyone showed kindness and goodwill toward the children.
"On behalf of the 430,000 people of Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture and the 40 kids who participated in this event, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to the event organizers and sponsors," he said.
