Air travel between China, Central Asian countries fully resumes

(ECNS) -- China Southern Airlines flight CZ6015 departed from Urumqi, Northwest China’s Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region and headed to Ashgabat, capital of Turkmenistan, on Tuesday evening, marking the full resumption of air travel between China and the five Central Asian countries.

This round-trip flight is scheduled to launch every Tuesday. The outbound flight departs from Urumqi at 22:20 Beijing time and arrives in Ashgabat at 23:30 local time. The return flight takes off at 01:00 local time and arrives in Urumqi at 07:35 Beijing time. The jet lag between Beijing and Ashgabat is three hours.

So far, China Southern Airlines has resumed nine international air routes, including Almaty, Bishkek, Dushanbe, Tashkent, Tbilisi, Islamabad, Tehran, Baku, and Astana, about half of the total routes in 2019.

Due to the high demand for both passengers and cargo, some flights on routes such as Tehran, Dushanbe, and Tashkent have been operated by wide-body aircraft on certain days.
