(ECNS) -- The world’s first battery-swapping station using 100 percent clean energy has been put into use in Lhasa, southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, on Wednesday.
The electric energy of the power exchange station all comes from clean sources such as solar and water, which can meet the energy replenishment needs of new energy vehicles (NEVs) in Lhasa.
With average annual sunshine of more than 3,000 hours, Lhasa is among the Chinese cities with the longest average sunshine time.
The continuous solar energy resources make Lhasa an important source of clean energy. At present, Tibet is home to 106 third-party charging pile stations with 439 third-party charging piles.
The Tibet Autonomous Region announced in June that it had formulated 38 measures to stabilize the economy, including policies to support the consumption of NEVs and NEV purchase subsidies.
Tibet has implemented preferential policies on taxation and land use to introduce large-scale NEV companies and build NEV sales, charging infrastructure and after-sales service networks.
