NPC deputies, CPPCC members from HK express confidence in pandemic combat

(ECNS) -- Deputies to the National People's Congress and members of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region expressed their confidence in battling the COVID-19 pandemic.

"We are confident that we will defeat the pandemic with support from the central government and people on the Chinese mainland," noted Tam Yiu-chung, member of the Standing Committee of NPC.

"And we are ready to welcome the upcoming 20th CPC National Congress and 25th anniversary of the establishment of the HKSAR," he said

"As NPC deputies from HKSAR, we will raise suggestions and proposals on behalf of the Hong Kong people, hoping Hong Kong will be more integrated into the country's overall development," said Chan Yung, NPC deputy from HKSAR.

"I hope that measures that help stabilize economic growth can be issued during the Two Sessions this year," said Gong Junlong, a member of the Standing Committee of CPPCC from HKSAR.
