(ECNS) -- Many foreigners have chosen to stay in China after the outbreak of the novel coronavirus in Wuhan, saying the Chinese government has taken resolute measures to control the epidemic.

Bob, from Australia, a maintenance department manager for Ningxia Hanas LNG Ltd., has lived in China for five years.

He has to go to work every day to ensure the normal supply of household gas.

"We have to register and take our temperatures every day when we enter the factory. The management is very strict, but I fully understand that these measures are taken to ensure the smooth operation of the factory," Bob said.

"I didn't expect that the Chinese government would act so quickly and powerfully,” he added. “My colleagues have brought me some protective equipment, so I don't worry about going to work now.”

"It's reassuring to see that the government has taken a series of preventive measures," said Min.

American Matthew Sandry has worked with Ningxia Saishang Dairy for 10 years. He now works at home every day. He says the experience of beating the epidemic will help China and the world develop better.

He encourages people to "think positive, talk positive and feel positive,” and advises people to minimize interactions with their communities and "be more tolerant in these times of trouble."

Mart is from Britain and is married to a Chinese woman. He is in charge of an English training institute in Ningxia.

He said China is his second home, and that he and his colleagues live well here.

“We are a family sharing the same breath and destiny. We'll overcome the difficulties and score the final victory,” he said.

Thirty-five patients had been cured and discharged from Ningxia hospitals by Feb. 17, with no new confirmed patients reported for two consecutive days.
