(ECNS) - The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) sent a team to assist investigation into Xiamen Airlines Flight CXA8667 that crash landed at Manila's Ninoy Aquino International Airport in the Philippines on Thursday, the administration said on Friday.
CAAC said the Boeing 737-800 skidded off the runway after landing in bad weather with the 157 passengers and eight crew members on board all evacuated safely.?
The plane left Xiamen in east China’s Fujian Province at 21:23 and crash landed in Manila at 23:55. The accident happened as rainstorms and strong winds hit the airport, with visibility at only 2,000 meters.
CAAC issued a notice to China’s aviation industry requesting resolute measures to ensure safety. Meanwhile, CAAC and its East China Regional Bureau also formed a joint group to work with Xiamen Airlines.
