(ECNS) - The Sino-U.S. trade friction has started showing a negative impact on the global economy, said Liu Aihua, spokeswoman of the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on Tuesday.
She noted that there are still great uncertainties about the result of frictions between the world’s largest and second-largest economies.
The World Trade Outlook Indicator (WTOI) for the third quarter dropped to 100.3 from 101.8 in the second and 102.3 in the first, signalling slowing trade growth in the coming months, Liu said at a press conference held by the Information Office of the State Council.
She added that the impact of unilateralism and protectionism on international trade is within expectation in relation to the current globalized industrial chain.
