(ECNS) - Forty of the 44 foreign airlines required to stop listing Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan as countries have finished rectification by July 25, the Civil Aviation Administration of China said on Thursday.?
The four remaining foreign airlines?-- United, American, Delta and Hawaiian airlines?-- reported to the CAAC on Wednesday that they need two more weeks to complete the process.?
CAAC said it has verified that the four airlines involved had started updating their official websites but the change was not yet complete by the deadline.?
It will keep a close eye on the progress and decide whether to activate corresponding procedures according to specific situations, CAAC said.?
On April 25, the administration demanded 44 foreign airlines review their websites and apps to ensure no Chinese territories are incorrectly labeled as countries as such practice is a violation of Chinese law and goes against the one-China policy. The rectification should have been finished within a month, according to the administration.
