China, Russia hold border defense joint drill

The "Border Defense Cooperation - 2014" joint drill between China and Russia was held in Hunchun area, northeast China's Jilin province, and the Hassan area of Russia on October 31, 2014, creating a new cooperation model for China and Russia to maintain the stability in border areas.

It is also reported that this joint drill is an important move for China and Russia to expand and deepen the pragmatic cooperation between the two militaries.

Against a background of fighting with the "violent terrorists "who are attempting to conduct cross-border terrorist actions, the border troops of the two militaries conducted a joint control drill, covering the contents of early warning, setting up ambush, traffic control and capture of terrorists.

Before the drill, the two sides initiated joint study on key sections of the border areas and formulated an implementation outline for joint control operations.

It is said that in the future, the two sides will carry out such joint drill regularly.
