Military authorities vowed on Wednesday to fight corruption during the recruitment of soldiers amid the Communist Party of China's anti-graft campaign.

The military's anti-graft authorities have publicized their telephone numbers and e-mail addresses to receive whistleblowing information during the recruitment season, according to a statement by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China.

Anti-corruption efforts should be a top priority in the recruitment of solders, and those who have violated the disciplinary rules must be punished, said the statement.

Corruption has been a major public concern recently. Xu Caihou, former vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission, was expelled from the Party on June 30.
