The General Armament Department of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) has recently received its first batch of over 1,000 Hongqi H7 sedans ordered specifically for military use, the PLA Daily reported on its Sina Weibo account on Sunday.

The move marks the completion of a campaign that demands all military vehicles be made domestically.

Hongqi is the third automobile brand that joins the military vehicle team, after Trumpche from Guangzhou Automobile Group and Besturn from First Automobile Works.
