Nanjing MAC starts reform on institutions

In light of the requirement for implementing diversified military missions, the Nanjing Military Area Command (MAC) of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) explores ways to carry out a reform on national defense equipment mobilization institutions.

Recently, a nationwide experimental reform on provincial-level equipment mobilization institutions was jointly launched by relevant departments of the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government and the Jiangsu Provincial Military Command of the PLA.

The Nanjing MAC of the PLA separated its provincial-level equipment mobilization institutions from the economic mobilization office of the national defense mobilization committee at the same level for independent construction, and formulated corresponding law and regulation systems, working systems and operation processes so as to better highlight its position and give play to its prominent role. While establishing provincial-level equipment mobilization institutions, it will also set up military-and-civilian dual-use equipment mobilization centers, and military-and-civilian dual-use equipment and apparatus reserve bases successively.

The Nanjing MAC of the PLA demonstrated and put forward construction requirements, standards, operation mechanisms and support measures for dual-use equipment mobilization centers at the national level, theater level and provincial level to carry out equipment and apparatus reserve and construction for emergency-response forces at three levels, namely province, city and county.

According to a leader of the National Defense Mobilization Committee of the Nanjing MAC, this equipment mobilization institution reform servers as a path-finder and the "road map" sign will lead to combat power accurately.
