Guo Boxiong, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and vice chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC), and Xu Caihou, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and vice chairman of the CMC, met with all the participants of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) in the London 2012 Olympics on August 29, 2012 in Beijing.
Guo Boxiong and Xu Caihou extended their warm congratulations to the PLA athletes who have won honor for China and the Chinese military in the London 2012 Olympics and expressed their sincere greetings to the staff members who have made contributions and the PLA physical culture workers on behalf of Chairman Hu Jintao and the CMC.
Chen Bingde, Li Jinai, Liao Xilong, Chang Wanquan and Wu Shengli, members of the CMC, also attended the meeting.
The PLA won five gold medals and two silver medals, and broke one world record and one Olympic record in the London 2012 Olympics.
