Official website launched to honor Chinese martyrs

China's Ministry of Civil Affairs on Tuesday launched a website to honor martyrs and appeal to the public to learn from their spirit.

The website includes eight columns, as well as information on 1.86 million martyrs, 4,151 martyr cemeteries and the heroic deeds of more than 3,000 famous Chinese martyrs, the ministry said.

Designed in 2012, relevant policies and gathered data are collected and summarized on the site. It also features online memorial ceremonies and ways for the families of martyrs to connect with other relatives, the ministry said.

According to the ministry, the website is the first official web portal dedicated to carrying forward the martyr spirit.

The ministry also called for greener memorial activities to commemorate the upcoming Tomb-Sweeping Day, which falls on April 4 this year.

新華網北京４月２日電（記者衛敏麗）為了銘記烈士,弘揚烈士精神,營造緬懷烈士、崇尚烈士、學習烈士的濃厚氛圍,由民政部優撫安置局籌劃建設的"中華英烈網"（ｗｗｗ．ｃｈｉｎａｍａｔｙｒｓ．ｃｏｍ）２日在京開通.

民政部優撫安置局有關負責人表示,網站的開通,既給社會公眾提供了了解烈士、學習烈士英雄事跡,開展烈士紀念活動的重要平臺,也給社會公眾特別是廣大烈屬開辟了祭奠親人、尋找親屬的新型渠道.

據介紹,"中華英烈網"以"緬懷烈士英名,弘揚烈士精神"為主題,以服務社會公眾特別是廣大烈屬為宗旨,是民政部開發的首個關于烈士褒揚工作政府門戶網站,具有政策性強、信息量大、涉及面廣等特點.網站自２０１２年初起開始籌劃建設,目前已完成網站開發、政策梳理、資料匯總、數據采集等工作.

"中華英烈網"設有新聞動態、紀念設施、烈士英名錄、網上祭奠、英雄事跡、政策法規、紅色影音、網上尋親等８個欄目,載錄了１８６萬名烈士基本信息,展示了４１５１個烈士陵園的建設情況,收錄了３０００多名中華著名烈士的英雄事跡.
