Beijing offers disabled people free public transportation

從３月起,殘疾人出示國家統一發放的殘疾證,即可以在北京免費乘坐公共電車和公共汽車,而盲人的免費范圍擴大至城市軌道交通.從外國來到北京居住、工作、旅游的殘疾人,也可享受這一新政策.

Holders of certificate of disability issued by China Disabled Persons' Federation can enjoy free rides on trams and buses, and more than that blind people can take subway for free in Beijing as of this March. The new policy also applies to disabled foreigners who live, work or travel in Beijing.

在北京,殘疾人免費乘車的線路超過了１０００條,包括遠郊區縣線路甚至開往周邊地區的城際線路.搭乘公共交通工具時,殘疾人隨身必備的輔助器具可以免費攜帶,陪同人員需要購票.不過,盲人在免費乘坐地鐵時,其陪同人員也免費.

The routes in Beijing free for the disabled to travel on total more than 1000 including lines to remote counties and districts as well as intercity lines to surrounding areas. Disabled persons are permitted to carry on board with them their indispensable equipment free of charge, but their companions need to buy tickets to travel along. However, the companion of the blind can travel on subway lines for free.

"不過"做連詞時,表示轉折.

"不過" acting as a conjunction indicates a turn in meaning.
