Beijing to set 100-plus bicycle rental spots

為了緩解交通壓力,今年北京市將建成2.5萬輛規模的公共自行車服務系統.在地鐵站、公交樞紐、居住區周邊設立百余個公共自行車租賃點.

Beijing Municipality is to build a public bicycle system involving 25,000 bicycles within this year, in a bid to mitigate traffic congestion which has been plaguing the city for a long time. More than 100 public bicycle rental spots will be set up nearby metro stations, public transit hubs and residential areas.

與以往使用現金租車不同的是,以后如果想要租自行車,就必須使用公交一卡通,還要實名制.新的公共自行車服務還將考慮租車市民人身安全,為租車人上一份"自行車險".現在計劃租車在1小時內免費,以后每小時的費用為1元,24小時最高收費為10元.

Instead of paying rent in cash as before, the renter must use the public transportation card with his real name. The new public bicycle service will take renters' life security into consideration and pay bicycle insurance for each renter. According to the current plan, the first hour of use of such bicycles is free, and then the cost is 2 yuan per hour with the ceiling cost being10 yuan for 24 hours.
