In order to fulfill national obligations under the Convention and implement its requirements, the Foreign Environmental Cooperation Center (FECO) of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment and the World Bank jointly developed and implemented the "Reduction and Phase-out of PFOS in Priority Sectors Project in China" of the Global Environment Facility (hereinafter referred to as the Project). Since January 1, 2024, China has completely banned the production, use, import and export of PFOS substances for all purposes, including the fire protection industry.
