The architectural site provides data for studying layout and evolution of Yongcheng city and the architectural techniques of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty( 770-221 B.C.).

Covering an area of 50 square kilometers, Yongcheng was the capital of the Qin state during the Spring and Autumn and the Warring States period.
