Portuguese painted tilework in grand exhibition in Beijing(1/5)

An exhibition titled ‘The Land of the Glazed Cities: 500 Years of Azulejo in Portugal’ opens in the Palace of Eternal Longevity (Yongshou gong) at the Palace Museum in Beijing, June 11, 2019. As the first exhibition jointly organized by the Palace Museum and the Museu Nacional do Azulejo, it showcases more than 50 of the most exquisite works of Portuguese azulejo (a form of painted tilework) from the sixteenth to twenty-first centuries.
