The salt lake of the Westgate Park in Melbourne, Australia, has attracted many visitors after it turned a vivid pink, March 4, 2019. Though at first it looks like toxic pollution, the change in the lake's color is actually due to a natural phenomenon. Due to the warm temperature and extreme salt levels, green algae at the bottom of the lake multiplied quickly, producing a pink pigment during its photosynthetic process. (Photo/Agencies)
