Researchers from Yunnan University including Zhai Dayou, Liu Yu and Hou Xianguang have worked with other scholars from the University of Cambridge and Massachusetts Institute of Technology to publish a paper entitled Three-Dimensionally Preserved Appendages in an Early Cambrian Stem-Group Pancrustacean on Current Biology, a scientific journal that covers all areas of biology. The team used X-ray computed tomography to reveal the pyritized appendages of the bivalved euarthropod Ercaicunia multinodosa from the early Cambrian Chengjiang biota.
