2012 North Korean Film Week

BC MOMA in Dongzhimen will host a series of films on North Korea in their in-house cinema. This will be a good opportunity for people to know more about the daily life of those living in North Korea. All the films are contemporary, providing really interesting insight into a country that remains a mystery to most, bar the big headlines. Note that most films will be in Korean with Chinese subtitles.

Take up dongxiao

Dongxiao, or vertical bamboo flute, is a traditional musical instrument of China. In this class people will learn about the history, technique and different types of this instrument.

Even if you are not convinced that you can make any nice melodies yourself, you can still appreciate sounds coming from others, who might be more familiar with the instrument.

Dongxiao will be provided.

Wing chun

Come and learn martial art technique wing chun from a professional martial arts teacher, which is a form of self-defense that takes the form of striking and grabbing the person you are fighting and was made famous by Bruce Lee.

It will be a great way to have some fun and stay in shape, just in time for the summer.

When, where and how much: until April 29, every Wednesday to Sunday, 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm, Qinyuan Mansion 2108, Renmin Daxue Beilu, Haidian district, 99 yuan for three lessons

Become a human weapon like Bruce Lee through attending a wing chun class.

Horror film afternoon

Have a really scary afternoon watching one of the most famous horror movie trilogies. Child's Play 1, Child's Play 2 and Child's Play 3 will give you a decent fright that you won't be able to escape. Caution: not suitable for children under the age of 18.
