(ECNS) -- China’s self-developed fourth-generation offshore engineering installation vessels Zhigao and Zhiyuan were successfully completed on Sunday in Nantong, east China's Jiangsu Province.
China’s offshore engineering equipment sector continues to make breakthroughs, with the market share ranking first in the world for seven consecutive years.The vessel “Zhigao” can lift wind power equipment weighing 3,600 metric tons in a single operation, with an accuracy error of no more than 10 centimeters. The vessel “Zhiyuan” can steadily operate in waters 70 meters deep. The two ships coordinate and represent the latest generation of wind power installation equipment globally.

At present, China’s offshore engineering equipment is continuously innovating. According to data from China Association Of the National Shipbuilding Industry, in 2024, China undertook 108 new offshore engineering equipment projects worth approximately 18.6 billion U.S. dollars, accounting for 69.4 percent of the global market share, maintaining the top position for seven years in a row.
In 2024, China’s share of new green ship orders in the international market reached 78.5 percent, achieving full coverage of mainstream ship types.
