(ECNS) -- Data released by China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) showed that in 2024, both new energy vehicle (NEV) production and sales in China exceeded 12 million, ranking first in the world for 10 consecutive years.
According to CAAM, China’s NEV production and sales reached 12.888 million and 12.866 million in 2024, up by 34.4 percent and 35.5 percent respectively, and the NEV sales account for 40.9 percent of the total new vehicle trade.
Meanwhile, the export of NEVs hit 1.284 million last year, an increase of 6.7 percent over the previous year, retaining a global lead, CAAM said.
